Dear All,
Friday’s Bottom Line:
Scott’s meeting with the regional coordinators after the main conference went really well, and we are expecting great momentum in reaching other parts of Nepal with the concept of raising disciple-makers. Scott seems to be over the fever and body aches, PRAISE GOD (!!!), but the enemy is persistent. Thankfully, we win!
Friday’s Prayer Requests:
- The DM groups formed as a result of this conference to begin meeting within the next ten days, their coaches to follow the format we know is most effective, and the group members to realize that what they are learning and experiencing is not just for them; it’s for those in the groups they will soon be leading!
- Our “Go Nepal!” team members to have their messages prepared and be prayed up, packed, and ready—as ready as possible—to head out on their long trip in just four days! They leave home Tuesday and arrive in Nepal on Thursday.
- Good health for those who have been sick at the conference; Scott’s immune system to fully destroy whatever’s been attacking him, and God to give him strength to preach at church Saturday morning and present his all-day DM seminar on Sunday.
- The Holy Spirit to specifically and powerfully guide the South American pastors that Pastor Wayne will be coaching beginning on Tuesday (details below).
Friday’s Details:
Concerning his session with the regional coordinators who stayed after the conference for higher-level meetings, Scott said, “Thank you for your prayers. For a full 30 minutes after my message, the pastors discussed the truths of the message and the impact of leaving the potential of the church unrealized. I feel they really took it to heart. I believe it really challenged them and will open many doors in the future. May God grow the church of Nepal! Your jar picture was what sealed the deal.”

Popcorn, anyone?
(NOTE: Some of you who attended or viewed our recent annual missions banquet may remember Scott’s jar of corn kernels. We now have at our house the 26 jars of corn that were on each table at the banquet, and yesterday he asked me to send him “a good, clear picture of one,” which I did.)
As I’ve mentioned, the main reason Scott went to Nepal a week before the rest of our team was to connect with pastors throughout Nepal who would be attending this evangelical pastors conference. For the several years Scott has been going to Nepal, all our disciple-making activity has been focused in the western part of the country, specifically in Banke District (yellow) and Surkhet District (green).

But the 18 pastors who have registered to join DM groups hail from all parts of Nepal where the red pins are, so God is giving us an amazing opportunity to saturate the nation with disciple-makers!
Concerning Prayer Request #3 above, Scott said, “I found out that Pastor Thomas's wife had to go to the hospital this morning, and they are not sure if she is well enough to make the 5-hour journey back home. Many others here are sick as well.” At the time he sent me that message, he was feeling much better, but since then he’s been dealing with asthma, stomach issues, and extreme fatigue.
(You can see Pastor Thomas at the end of this video of the beautiful view from that mountaintop conference center.)
And concerning Prayer Request #4, we know that while Scott and our “Go Nepal!” team are serving God in Asia, many other faithful people are actively raising disciple-makers all around the world, so here’s some wonderful news from South America.
Pastor Wayne, an American, has been a missionary in Peru for 40 years. He leads a Bible school that has trained 400 students who have planted 175 churches in Peru and Colombia. Wow! Pastor Wayne has been in Scott’s online DM group for several months, and he is highly motivated to raise more and more disciple-makers. He has now hand-picked six of those 175 pastors (three each from Peru and Colombia) whom he will personally coach through the DM process, and get this! Each of those six has committed to:
- Be in Pastor Wayne’s DM group for 25 weeks,
- Begin the DM process in their own churches, and
- When they have completed the 25 weeks, begin that process with six other pastors!
These six pastors are definitely “persons of influence” whom others will respect and follow, and they each feel VERY HONORED that Pastor Wayne has chosen them out of the 175. Scott is excited about the purposeful way Pastor Wayne is moving forward and asks us to pray for that whole process to proceed well. Pastor Wayne’s group of six will begin meeting this coming Tuesday, November 3 (coincidentally the same day our “Go Nepal!” team takes to the skies).
And finally, here’s 10 seconds of fun!
Would you please take time today to pray for Scott, our team, those who are sick, and Pastor Wayne’s new group? We are SO thankful to know you are standing with us in faith!
Blessings,
Patty
