Meet Scott & Patty

Scott & Patty Roberts

Scott & Patty Roberts

Scott and Patty Roberts have been active in ministry since they married in 1987. They are both graduates of Agape School of World Evangelism in Little Rock, AR, where they lived until God called them to plant a church in Branson, MO, in 1996.

After several years of pastoral ministry, God spoke to Scott through a dream about planting video Bible schools in a closed nation in northeast Asia. Building on the foundation laid by his mother and father’s ministry in that country, in 2003, the Lord began birthing the ministry now known as Take the Challenge International (initially called Mission China, which remains the US 501 (c) (3) parent entity, doing business as Take the Challenge and Disciple-Makers Movement).

While working as a software development consultant from 2003 to 2015, Scott took over 20 short-term overseas trips. When his access to certain nations became restricted, Scott turned his focus toward other nations, including Niger, Africa, where he led TTC drama teams, helped to plant a local church, taught in Bible schools, and preached in local churches.

In 2012, the ministry’s name was rebranded to Take the Challenge to reflect the opportunities the Lord was opening worldwide. In 2016, God called Scott to pursue full-time missions. Since that time, he has been traveling to various countries, training pastors, teaching in Bible schools, and supporting missionary efforts around the world with resources and teaching.

In 2019, the ministry’s focus was refined to prioritize raising disciple-makers. And, in 2024, Scott’s most recent book, Raising Disciple-Makers, was released.

When not overseas, Scott and his wife, Patty, enjoy life in Walnut Shade, MO, USA.
