Scott Roberts

Founder, Missionary, Author

Scott Roberts graduated from Hendrix College in 1985 with a BA in Mathematics and then worked for a para-church youth organization. Feeling called to ministry, he attended Agape School of World Evangelism in Little Rock, Arkansas, graduating in 1987, the same year he met and married his wife, Patty.

Scott worked in software development for the next nine years before moving to Branson, Missouri, to plant a church. After pastoring bi-vocationally for several years, God called Scott to world missions. In 2003, he founded Mission China. While working as a software development consultant from 2003 to 2015, he took over 20 short-term overseas trips. In 2012, he rebranded the ministry name as Take the Challenge to reflect the opportunities the Lord was opening worldwide. In 2016, God called Scott to pursue full-time missions. In 2019, the ministry’s focus was refined to raising disciple-makers. And, in 2024, Scott’s most recent book, Raising Disciple-Makers, was released.

Scott is passionate about raising disciple-makers, playing tennis and basketball, and camping and kayaking with his family.
